Clutter Area 1:. Unused, Unappreciated, or Non-Essential Possessions

Some otherwise sensible people become slaves to their possessions. They surround themselves with more “stuff” than they need or have time to enjoy. Much of it is costly in time or trouble to keep or store. Every now and then you simply have to clean them out–because you can’t find the tools you need, or you simply get tired of parking your car in front of the garage.

Take a walk around your house or apartment; check out the places where you stash “things you might need someday” and “things that don’t work right but you paid too much to throw away.” Notice those things that you once used but now sit idle–they’ve been outgrown or are simply not interesting anymore. Think about the “total cost” of keeping all of this “stuff”–the time, trouble, storage.
