Comparing and Evaluating Hypotheses

In addition to testing your hypothesis, you also should seek to discover if some alternative hypothesis fits the evidence better. Find out which one has the least number of assumptions associated with it.

As you process the information and grapple with possible explanations, you refine and modify the initial hypothesis. Thus, the shape of the hypothesis is adjusted as more facts and understandings come to light.
