Chapter 14. Prioritizing Work Overload

Do you often feel overloaded with work? If so, a major reason may be that your manager does not understand how long certain tasks take, or may be unaware of other duties that must be performed at the same time.

When you view work overload as a challenge, rather than a problem, solutions will come more easily. If you do not communicate (and document) the problem, however, your overload will become the rule and not the exception. Make sure you discuss overload problems with your manager after you have done the following:
