About Your Thinking Style

In addition to having a learning style (V, A, or K), people vary in their thinking style. We all know people who approach situations and differently than we do. They seem to view the world differently, and even if they reach the same conclusions as we do, they arrive there a very different way.

In the ’70s and ’80s brain dominance theory became popular and there was a lot of interest in right brain and left brain thinking. While identifying exactly where in the brain a kind of thought process takes place has proven to be much more complex, the fact that people have definite styles of thinking is hard to argue with. In general, the graphic below illustrates the differences in the way the two hemispheres of the brain process information.
