Chapter 7. Taking Inventory > Understanding Other People

Understanding Other People

After you understand yourself and what you bring on the trip, the next step is to understand the people that you are working with in the group. You may not be able to get each one of them to take a personal inventory, but you can learn a lot just by observing them. Keeping in mind the questions in the personal inventory, watch the other people in your group interact and see where their skills lie. Understanding your own and others’ strengths and weaknesses helps set reasonable expectations and allows you and the group to work together more effectively.
