Chapter 11. Let’s Make Steel > Ensuring Appropriate Representation

Ensuring Appropriate Representation

When you select people to attend the meeting, make sure that all pertinent areas are represented. Ask the group if they feel that all areas are represented. If no, then take steps to correct the situation. From the beginning, even if you are not the leader, you set the tone by asking: “Do we need anyone else before we move on?”

Idea: Working to consensus means checking in regularly with everyone in the group to make sure you are all on the same path.
