Chapter 32. Lessons Learned

In the first five sections of the book you identified how you are helped or hindered by your use of time, your organizational skills, self-management and management of others. You discovered you can define your own rules that honor your personal preferences and values. You’ve built a template (set of factors) that is your preferred work style. In pulling it all together, remember:

  • Identify your work style preferences that support your business objectives. Capitalize on them. Enjoy them. Benefit from them.

  • Be realistic about work habits that sabotage your efforts. Change or eliminate habits or redefine your business objectives. Cut down on the collisions.

  • In today’s changing world, goals also change. Be flexible to shifting your goals and work style to complement one another.

  • Be specific about the steps you want to take. You don’t need to take them all at once. Just get started. Working smarter in one area of your life is often contagious and spreads to other areas of your life.
