We encounter many forms of loss as we move through life. Our earliest bonding is for survival, and this energy exists in all bonding. We attach to people, places and things, and when the attachment bonds are broken or threatened, we experience pain and other feelings of loss. How we make and break bonds in early life provides the basis for how we react to and heal from grief as adults.
