Chapter 18. Workplace Grief: The Assets And Liabilities

As we travel through life and experience its expected and unexpected twists and turns, we may look back at the journey and see that crisis and loss have pushed us in new directions, and that these have been good directions. It is possible to acknowledge “the gift of loss.” This does not mean that we wanted the loss to occur or that we would still not want to recover whatever was lost: a person, good job, career dream. Yet the loss has happened, and we grieved the loss and were able to move on to other pathways that eventually led to healing, growth and joy.
