1: What specific challenges did you experience in delegating to technical professionals?
A: Overcoming the feeling that I am expected to do it all, or that since I am now accountable, I must do it all to make certain it is done correctly.
2: What specific recommendations would you make to help other technical professionals develop their delegation skills?
A: Resist the “need” to do everything yourself. Don’t think your staff expects you to know it all. Accept the risk that someone may not do the task as well as, or like, you would, but that they will do well enough, and they will get better with experience.
