Chapter 10. Computer Hardware > Laptop Computers

Laptop Computers

Many offices use small laptop computers in place of desktop computers to give employees mobility and flexibility when using their PCs. With a laptop, everything is combined into one unit: CPU, monitor, hard drive, CD-ROM, speakers, modem, network card, microphone, and diskette. Laptop computers can be upgraded with larger hard drives and additional RAM. You can connect them to printers, a phone line, an office network, or to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

One nice feature of a laptop computer is the built-in battery. This battery will power the computer for several hours without being connected to a power outlet.
