Petty Cash

Most businesses keep a small amount of cash on hand to pay for cash items and to make change for customers. This cash must be accounted for with receipts for each expenditure. You can obtain petty cash by writing a check payable to "cash" or to a particular employee. In either case, whoever cashes the check will be responsible for making sure that accurate records are kept of expenditures.
