Chapter 12. Features of an e-mail program > Priority labels and signature files

Priority labels and signature files

Explanation

Most e-mail programs provide you with the option of labeling the importance of your message. The priority label usually appears next to your message in the recipient’s Inbox. This feature helps e-mail users to read high-importance messages immediately and low-importance ones when it’s convenient for them. However, they should be careful not to overuse this accessory. If e-mail users consistently label messages as high importance, recipients might not take their messages seriously.
