Part 3. Digital Photography Basics

Part 3. Digital Photography Basics

In Part 1, “Getting Comfortable with Your Digital Camera,” you learned about the different types of digital cameras and how digital cameras store images. In Part 2, “Preparing Your Camera,” you learned how to prepare your digital camera for use. Now, it's time to take your first photos!

Although the camera takes care of setting exposure and focus for you, you still need to understand other basic camera features, such as the zoom lens, light metering, and focus lock, to ensure that you get the pictures you want.
