Hold Still

Vibration causes blur, and blur ruins a photograph. It's not always possible to hold a camera perfectly still, though—for example, when it's windy or very cold you may have a hard time keeping your hands perfectly still. Also, when you need to take a shot with a long exposure, say at night, there's nothing you can really do to keep the camera absolutely motionless so that you don't introduce blurriness into your photo.

The solution? Use a tripod, the one accessory that no photographer should be without. Everyone has seen a tripod, but few people own one, or at least a good one. Ideally a tripod should be sturdy and supportive, but not so heavy that it's difficult to carry around.
