Composing with Light

Illustrators work with ink, painters create with paint, sculptors use clay, and photographers use light. Without light it would be impossible to make a photo. So proper use of light is just as important for composing your pictures as the way you hold your camera or arrange your subjects. Lighting can make or break a photograph (Figures 2.13a and 2.13b).
