Adjusting ISO settings while shooting

So, how do you use ISO settings to produce better digital images? The secret is in recognizing your shooting situation and constantly making adjustments. Sure, your camera might have an Auto setting that does the work for you, but how can you be sure that your digital camera is making the right decisions?

The first thing to determine is what type of action you're shooting. Action shots require faster ISO settings to freeze the action, such as the one shown in Figure C, while landscape shots can be taken at much lower settings. The faster the subject, the faster your ISO setting should be.
