Inkjet T-shirt transfers

Application: Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 or any image-editing application

Do you remember going to the T-shirt transfer store and picking out your design from a wall of choices, usually some sort of glittery rainbow or the logo for a heavy metal band? Your image would be sandwiched into a large heat press and immortalized on the ¾-sleeve T-shirt of your choice, at least until it started to flake off in the washing machine. Since the technology behind this haute couture was merely a really hot iron, the designs were what brought people into the store. With the proliferation of inkjet printers for home use, paper manufacturers have created inkjet transfer papers that can be printed with a custom design. So, whether you're creating T-shirts for a local fundraiser or just putting a picture of your puppy on your shirt, we'll tell you how to turn your images into wearable art, as we did in Figure A.
