One of the big advantages to shooting pictures with a digital camera is that you can have your image up on the Web mere seconds after taking it. This immediacy allows us to share our images quickly, but the ease of posting images on the Web has led to an epidemic of bloated file sizes and poor optimization choices. Taking the time to prep your images before posting to the Web doesn't have to be a technical nightmare or take a lot of time. Instead, by considering your audience and planning your presentation, you can display efficient, attractive images that won't break the bandwidth.
