Amplified noise:

Noise that occurs in the blue channel of an image. The human eye is less sensitive to blue light, so the blue channel must be amplified to make it equal to the red and green channels, and by nature this results in a nosier blue channel. Usually only visible when viewing the blue channel directly.



Aperture:

Opening that allows light to pass through a camera lens. Apertures are usually expressed in f-stops—smaller f-stops represent larger apertures. A larger aperture lets more light hit the camera's CCD—approximately twice as much light for each full f-stop increase.
