Chapter Five. Essential Accessories > What's in Your Photo Studio?

What's in Your Photo Studio?

Photo accessories, whether they are for film or digital cameras, are designed to let you do different things with your cameras, or simply make certain tasks and procedures easier and faster. In the end, though, it all boils down to photographing the best images possible. In the first part of this chapter, we concentrated on accessories that you take with you on location. In this part, we'll shift our focus indoors to accessories that are designed to make shooting in a studio more effective.

Setting up a studio for digital photography is really not very different than setting up a studio for conventional film photography. Other than the fact that you might choose to have a computer workstation near the shooting area, the basic elements are the same. There's a subject to photograph, a setting in which that subject is placed, light to illuminate the scene, and a camera to capture the image. If you're already familiar with studio photography, there won't be many surprises here.
