Chapter 1. What Is Digital Photography?

Chapter 1. What Is Digital Photography?

The last ten years have seen a revolution in photography. Not since the advent of the Kodak Brownie camera at the beginning of the 20th century has there been such a technological advance in picture taking. A digital camera allows you to shoot a picture, view it immediately, transfer it directly to a computer—and from there you can print it, post it on a Web page, or send it to friend. No more buying film or visiting the drugstore to have it processed. And the camera is just as easy to use as your trusty Kodak Instamatic. Maybe easier.
