Emailing Your Images

The most immediate way of sharing photos computer-to-computer is to email them. They stay digital, and one electronic photo spawns dozens of copies with no effort on your part. All recent versions of email software have simple ways to attach pictures to email. Your recipient can view any JPEG file in a browser window, without additional software (Figure 11.2).

Figure 11.2. To see a JPEG in the Windows versions of Internet Explorer or Netscape, remember to change the drop-down “Files of type” menu in the Open dialog box to JPEG. Because the browser default is HTML files, you won't see any JPEG files on your computer when you browse until you change the default.
