Chapter 10. Print Your Images > Setting Up Your Image

Setting Up Your Image

The most important part of setting up your image is making sure that you're printing at the right print resolution and print size. Of course, we hope that you shot your picture at the right resolution for the print dimensions you want (see “Print Sizes and Print Resolution”).

You can print from several file formats successfully, although we recommend using TIFF if you plan to scale your picture up or down just before you print. The JPEG format (which is what your camera produces unless you set it to something else) is fine if you print at 100 percent after resampling. (See “Changing Resolution and Size,” in Chapter 8 to learn about resampling and changing resolution and print settings.)
