Chapter 7. Retouching Portraits > Adding a Glamour Look

Adding a Glamour Look

I made my living for awhile as a fashion photographer and photoposing instructor for a New York modeling agency, so I’m probably inured to our society’s preoccupation with youth and glamour. I liked one of my model’s work enough to marry her, and, although her modeling career ended long before she reached her present 40+ age, I can understand the desire she has, along with many other women and more than a few men of all ages, to look glamorous. So, I can say with experience that, if you gain the ability to add a glamour look to portraits with your retouching skills, you’ll have all the friends you can handle for the rest of your life.

This section covers a few easy techniques for giving a romantic or glamorous appearance to portraits. We’re going to start off with blond42.pcx, which you can find on the CD-ROM that is bundled with this book. It’s a profile shot, as you can see in Figure 7.22, so we need to spruce up the look a little.
