Chapter 6.  Editing Images and Drawings  > Working with the Erasers

Working with the Erasers

Paint Shop Pro includes two eraser tools—an Eraser and a Background Eraser—that work similarly to a pencil eraser except that you have several options from which you can select. Erase options are the same options available to a paintbrush in that you can select the eraser size, opacity, hardness, and step.

Using the Eraser

Use the regular Eraser tool to replace colors in an image with the background color or with a transparency. If you are working on a background layer, the Eraser tool replaces the erased area with the current background/fill style. If you are working on a Raster layer, Paint Shop Pro replaces the erased area with a transparent area. You’ll learn more about Raster layers in Part II, “Working with Raster Graphics.”
