Part 11. Preparing to Publish > Saving Files in Photoshop Format

Saving Files in Photoshop Format

If you've added Elements-specific features to a picture (such as layers, layer styles, shapes, or text), save the file in Photoshop Elements's native format to preserve those features so you can go back and change them later. Even if you're done working on an image, you should save a copy that includes all the layers and other stuff.

With an image open in the active image area, choose File, Save As or press Shift+Ctrl+S.

In the Format pop-up menu, choose Photoshop.

Navigate to the location where you want to save the file and click Save.

Click OK.
