Part 3. Basic Photo Fixing > Making a Quick Fix with a Slider Adjustment

Making a Quick Fix with a Slider Adjustment

Elements's Auto functions are pretty good—but they're not perfect because the program doesn't really know what each image is supposed to look like. Only you know that, which is why you often get better results by adjusting a picture's color, lighting, and sharpness yourself.

With the picture you want to fix in the active image area, click the Quick Fix button on the shortcuts bar.

Click the disclosure triangle to open the Quick Fix section you want to use.

Drag a slider to adjust the image.

Click the Commit button (✓) when you like the way the After image looks.

TIP

Cancel That

Next to the Accept button is a Cancel button; click it to remove the effects of the most recent change you made to the picture without reverting completely.

NOTE

The Color of Light

Temperature and Tint sliders can fix bad lighting. For yellowish photos taken under incandescent light, drag the Temperature slider toward Cool; for pictures taken under fluorescent light, Tweak the Tint slider toward the magenta end.
