Using Smart Guides

In ImageReady, you have the ability to use Smart Guides to help align shapes, slices, and selections as you draw. They appear automatically as you draw a shape, or create a selection or slide, and then disappear after the shape is drawn. They give you ability to visually align one object to another object with a minimum of effort. The default for smart guides is on.

Use Smart Guides

Open a document in ImageReady.

Create a new layer, and then draw a shape using one of ImageReady's drawing tools.

Create a second layer, and then create a second shape.

As you draw the shape, smart guides appear to help you align the two shapes.

Release the mouse and the guides disappear.

Click and drag any shape using the Move tool and the guides reappear.
