Photoshop's Save for Web

Save for Web is, in some respects, a separate program within Photoshop. It even creates its own preferences. For the Mac, look for Adobe Save for Web 8.0 Prefs in the same folder as Photoshop's preferences file. In Windows, Save for Web's preferences are written to the Registry.

Web graphics can be created directly from Photoshop, using the Save for Web feature. You can optimize images as GIF, JPEG, PNG-8, PNG-24, and WBMP. Using Save for Web gives you far more control over the optimization process than you have creating JPEG images with the Save As command or exporting to GIF89a in earlier versions of Photoshop.
