Auto Gradients

How do the Foreground and Background options for color stops work?

When Foreground or Background is assigned to a color swatch in the Gradient Editor, the gradient automatically updates itself when selected. For example, say that a gradient has been defined with black and white as the foreground and background colors. Later, perhaps even in another project, that gradient is selected from the Gradient palette. If the foreground color happens to be red and the background color is blue, for example, the gradient is updated to reflect those colors for any color stops for which Foreground or Background is assigned.
