Mastering the Adobe Creative Suite

The two basic classifications of digital images are vector and raster. Vector image files, such as those native to Illustrator, contain descriptions of geometric objects. Photoshop's raster image files (also known as bitmap images) contain descriptions of colored pixels arranged in a grid or raster. InDesign works with both types of graphics. GoLive uses primarily raster artwork, with the exception of the vector-capable SVG and SWF formats. (This discussion will focus on the artwork-generating programs, Photoshop and Illustrator.)
