Chapter 23. Creating Rollovers and Addin... > ImageReady's Rollovers and Animation...

ImageReady's Rollovers and Animations: Overview

Rollovers and animations in ImageReady are based on layers—you show and hide layers to create the different rollover states (the different appearances of the graphic) and to create the individual frames of an animation.

Why Rollovers?

Rollovers are most commonly used as buttons on a Web page, clickable graphics that make something happen. A button may be a link to another page, it may open another window or change a frame, it may alter the current page in some way. The appearance of the image changes when the mouse is moved on top of the graphic (that is, rolled over the graphic) or when the graphic is clicked.
