The Adobe Creative Suite: Minimum Requirements

Which program of the Adobe Creative Suite drives your hardware and OS requirements depends upon the type of work you do. Book-length projects in InDesign can be demanding, as can cartography in Illustrator. Working with huge Web sites in GoLive might be your biggest strain. Or perhaps your projects involve 16-bit, multilayered Photoshop files.

When considering your hardware requirements, think about the work you typically do, the occasional extra-heavy-duty project, and whether or not you run multiple programs at the same time. If, for example, you switch back and forth among InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop during the course of a work session, you'll likely need more than the minimum amount of RAM. (Even with the memory allocation capabilities of modern operating systems, you'll probably want to add far more than the minimum requirements of RAM.)
