Chapter 8. Bringing Images into Photoshop > From Camera to Photoshop

From Camera to Photoshop

Moving images from a digital camera to Photoshop can take any of several forms. Your camera, its software, and your computer's operating system all can play a role. The various combinations of camera, software, and OS are many; this section presents some generalities, and it uses one camera as an example. Consult the documentation for your camera, software, and OS, and use the Internet to get the latest information and software updates for your configuration.

Depending on the media your camera uses to record and your camera's connection capability, you may be able to access the images directly from the camera. Alternatively, you might need to connect a media reader to your computer. Some cameras record directly to floppy disks or mini-CDs (Sony Mavica cameras, for example), which can be read directly by the computer.
