Chapter 24. Save For Web and Image Optimization > Graphics on the Web: Overview

Graphics on the Web: Overview

The World Wide Web has evolved into a visual environment. This graphic-rich environment, however, does have a number of limitations. Because the Web is presented in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and related computer languages, graphics must conform to certain rules. Chief among them is the restriction on which file formats can be used. A Web browser will not, for example, display a PSD or TIFF file.
