Changing Embedded Profiles

The profile embedded in an image can be changed in a variety of ways. You can convert an image to your working space on opening. You can change the color mode of the document. You can strip the profile from the image by selecting Discard the Embedded Profile when notified of a mismatch. You can also change the embedded profile or the profile and the image's color space.

Image, Mode, Assign Profile

The Assign Profile command enables you to strip the embedded profile from a document, tag the document with the working profile (RGB, CMYK, or Grayscale), or choose another profile of the appropriate color mode (see Figure 9.11).
