Evaluating Images

Photoshop has a number of tools that can help you evaluate images. Some, such as the Proof Colors command, rely on accurate monitor calibration and proper color management. Others, such as the Info palette and the Histogram command, objectively measure color but are still dependent on profiles selected in Color Settings.

The Info Palette

The Info palette (see Figure 16.1) can give you two different color readings for the cursor location and color readings for up to four separately designated points in an image.
