The Noise Filters

Noise is a random scattering of pixels that can fix problem areas of a digital image, reduce the effects of banding gradients, or add a natural effect of film grain. A good digital imagist or retoucher knows how to effectively use noise to match the new pixels to the original's film grain.

The use of the Noise filters is a somewhat subjective procedure that changes from image to image. Some Noise filters actually remove artifacts from an image or reduce noise. I've chosen a few practical applications of the use of these filters in the following examples.
