The Blur Filters

The preset Blur filters are fine for a few images, but professionals tend to not use them. If you apply the Blur or Blur More filters to an image, the only adjustment options you have are choosing Edit, Fade or applying the filters to a copied image layer and adjusting the layer's Opacity or blending mode.

The Blur filters that give you the most control and functionality are the Gaussian Blur, Motion Blur, and Radial Blur filters. The Smart Blur gives questionable results and creates strange artifacts in the image. In this section, only these filters have examples, as the results of the preset Blur filters are automatic.
