Common Compositing Errors

Although combining images can be extremely effective and can easily fool the eye, it is not uncommon to miss details that detract from the realism of a composited image. In other words, it just doesn't “look right.” Sometimes it's obvious, and a viewer can immediately say, “Hey, that looks fake because the shadow is going in the wrong direction,” but other times the error is harder to pinpoint, although it's easy to tell that something is wrong. It can be like those “What's Wrong with This Picture?” puzzles in Highlights magazine.
