Acknowledgments

First, Jeff wishes to thank his wife, Cheryl, and daughters Jillian, Brittany, and Chelsea, and Pete thanks his wife, Mary Ellen, for their patience and support during the production of this book.

At the top of our acknowledgement list must certainly be the entire team at Que. Laura Norman's dedication to this project was unmatched—rumor has it she was trying to finish editing a chapter on her way to the delivery room. Sean Dixon and Loretta Yates had to play catch-up after being assigned to a half-completed project, and never missed a step. Lisa Lord did an excellent job of making sure that the information within these covers is presented in the clearest, most understandable manner possible. (Lisa, was that redundancy okay?) Carol Bowers shepherded the project through the home stretch. Richard Romano wore two large hats for this project. In addition to serving as technical editor, he's a contributing author, lending his print expertise for several chapters and an appendix.

We'd also like to thank those individuals and companies that supplied the “goodies” you'll find on the CD: Stephanie Robey of PhotoSpin, Ed Sanchez at nik Multimedia, Al Ward of ActionFX, Ethan Dunham of FontHead.com, and AlienSkin. Thanks, too, to our colleagues at the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (especially Scott and Jeff Kelby and Dave Moser) and to the good folks at Adobe and all the enthusiastic professionals involved in testing Photoshop prior to its release. Their willingness to share their experience and expertise helped make this a richer, more complete product for you.

We'd certainly be remiss if we didn't acknowledge Jeff Schultz whose confidence and faith in us got this project rolling.

And a special thanks to Gracie Marie Norman, for waiting to be born long enough for Laura to get us going. Welcome!
