Chapter 2. Photo Finish: Photographic Effects, Part 2

Chapter 2. Photo Finish: Photographic Effects, Part 2

I'll bet you thought you were done with photographic effects when you finished the last chapter.

Well, my friend, there's more. Much more! One chapter just couldn't hold all the cool photographic effects, so I was forced (by the Senate subcommittee on not having too many photo effects in one chapter) to create “Part Deux.” By the way, the word “Deux” is French for “doo,” which my 6-year-old son tells me is half a word. As I'm sure you're aware, it's not really “doo.” That's totally a joke. Deux is French for “du,” which as everyone knows is short for “dude.” So if you're in France (perhaps on your way to someplace that doesn't hate Americans, like Russia) and you see a long-haired surfer-looking Frenchman, say something like “Bonjour, du.” Chances are he'll usually answer back with something like “Die American, die!” but at least he didn't just sneer at you and say, “My name isn't Dude.” It's at that moment you realize that you're actually speaking French to a real French surf dude. Right then you'll know—this chapter was all worth it.
