Links

The simplest type of interaction that you can allocate to an element within Fireworks is a standard HTML navigation link. When clicking the mouse (event) on a specified image (trigger), a new document loads in the current window (action). Linking behavior is so commonplace and basic, however, that it has been incorporated directly into standard HTML. In other words, you do not need to use JavaScript to make a link work. For this reason, in Fireworks, a link is not referred to as a behavior. A behavior in Fireworks is always a JavaScript-enabled action.

About URLs

Although you don’t use the Behavior panel to add links to your page, you might (you don’t have to) need to specify the link to page action. You can do this through the URL field in the Property Inspector or the URL panel. You can select multiple types of link actions by choosing the format of the URL that you enter.
