Chapter 14. Exporting > Working with Flash

Working with Flash

Although you can bring your Fireworks project into Flash in many ways, the best is to import a Fireworks PNG file. This method gives you the most control over how graphics and animations are imported into Flash. However, although PNG is the native file format for Fireworks, PNG graphic files exported from Fireworks are different from the source PNG files that you save in Fireworks. Exported PNG files are similar to GIFs or JPEGs because they only contain image data and not slicing, layers, interactivity, live effects, or other editable content.

You can export Fireworks graphics as JPEGs, GIFs, and PNGs, and import them into Flash using the usual export methods described in the section “Exporting Graphics with Transparency.”
