Lori Denning started her design career where all designers begin: in the chemistry lab. Realizing that she was ill-suited to be a research scientist, she bounced around until she found marketing and design. Her eclectic tastes include sports (especially fencing), reading sci-fi, traveling, and playing computer games. She currently works as a director of marketing in Northern California.

Steven Grosvenor is co-founder of phireworx.com (www.phireworx.com), a Fireworks resource site; co-author of Dreamweaver MX Expert Edge (McGraw-Hill/Osborne, July 2002); and Senior Systems Architect for a managed internet security company in the United Kingdom. Steven’s background is in cross-platform systems integration, interface design, interaction, and architecture design.

Demand from users for a customized, interactive experience led him to develop and create many timesaving and creative commands and behaviors for Dreamweaver, vastly reducing deployment time for corporate sites and increasing their portability and scalability. His drive to increase team productivity led him to develop extensibility addons for other products in the Macromedia web suite including Dreamweaver MX, Fireworks MX, and Flash MX.

One of the new breed of commands for Fireworks MX, “Twist and Fade 3.0,” which was created by Steven, had the accolade of shipping with Fireworks MX. His other publications include several Fireworks MX and Dreamweaver MX tutorials, which can be found at Macromedia (www.macromedia.com).

Lise LaTorre is a founding partner and Production Director of InMotionMedia.net, a small web design shop focused on supporting community through bringing small businesses and non-profit organizations online. Lise graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in Psychology and Linguistics, which turned out to be the perfect foundation for developing information architecture, data models, and user interface, as well as the use of programming languages. She leaves the pretty stuff to Abigail and her partner in IMM, Liz Goh.

Mary Rich began her career as an insurance agent. She switched to become a programming trainee, found out what programmers did, and fell in love. The affair continued through mainframes and midrange systems and peaked when the first IBM PCs arrived. Mary eventually became involved with various graphics programs, then web sites. A firm believer in Macromedia products, she found Dreamweaver and Fireworks to answer her prayers for productivity. She provides consulting and training in many different areas to organizations in the Los Angeles area and—through the Internet—to the world. She has a BA degree from Brown University and is working on a certificate in computer graphics from UCLA. Mary’s cat, Friday, lets her live with him in El Segundo, CA.
