Summary

Whew! There are surely as many import/export options to use with Photoshop as there are applications; this chapter provided only a brief list of the most popular applications used with Photoshop. Basically, you should keep two points in mind as you work cross-application:

  • If the target program is an OLE client, you can use the Paste Special command with files under 4MB or so. By doing this, you can edit the image using Photoshop at any point in the future.

  • You can't go wrong with the TIFF file format (you need to make sure alpha channels have been stripped from the document if you don't want masking to occur in the target document). Then you just need to use an Import (or Place) command in the document to receive the image.
