Chapter 17. Surrealistic Photoshop > Creating and Using Layer Comps

Creating and Using Layer Comps

Layer comps enable you to create different layer visibility scenarios and quickly toggle through each setup. For example, you created an image that contains dozens of layers for a client. Your client wants to see three different versions, each showing or hiding a variety of different layers. So, rather than searching through the Layers palette and turning the visibility off or on for specific layers, you can predefine each of the three setups so that your client doesn't become frustrated and farm his work to someone else (someone else who knows how to use Layer comps!).

The image we've created in this chapter has potential for more than one version. Using the Layer Comps palette, we can quickly change the view from one version to another.
