33. Capture a Pet's Portrait

Before You Begin

1 About Photography

Taking a picture of your pet can be similar to capturing a portrait of a toddler. Most pets—dogs, cats, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, and so on—have minds of their own. This makes it unlikely your pet will sit still for a nice portrait. To increase your chances at getting a nice photograph, keep your camera handy and bring it out often. This will help your pet get used to the camera and its flash. Also, the shear volume of photos should increase the chances that one of them is a “keeper.”
