Task: Reflecting Text

Now that you’ve learned a bit about the Liquify filter, we’ll use it to change our earlier text and shadow example to an example of text reflected in imaginary water.

1.
Open the My name.psd file you created in the task titled “Create Text and Its Shadow.”

Select the shadow text layer.

Choose Filter, Distort, Liquify. You’ll be asked whether you want to simplify the layer. Click OK to continue.

Click the Warp tool. Because our text is so small, set the brush size to 1. Set the brush pressure to 50.

5.
Drag the mouse through the text in a swirling pattern until you get the effect you like, and then click OK to save it.

6.
Your image probably looks something like the one shown in Figure 10.22.
